Aileen Epstein-Ignadiou Aileen, a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher since 1983, has traveled to India on numerous occasions to study directly with the Iyengar family. She has taught classes and workshops in Tel Aviv, London, Los Angeles, Utah, and Las Vegas, including for the College (CSN) and the University (UNLV). Mother of three children, Aileen studied with the Iyengars while pregnant and used her unique knowledge and training to develop the pre-natal/post-natal program for the prestigious Iyengar Yoga Institute in Los Angeles. Having suffered from upper respiratory illness for many years, Aileen enjoys using yoga to help people overcome and prevent health problems. Since moving to Las Vegas in 1992, she founded and currently serves as president of the BKS Iyengar Yoga Association of Southern Nevada. Qualified to train teachers, Aileen runs a three year advanced studies/teacher training program and is also an assessor for the Iyengar Yoga National Association of the United States. Aileen’s desire is to provide the Las Vegas community with professional instruction and a state-of-the-art facility in which to practice and learn yoga. Stephen Salkin-Krucker
Steve is Aileen’s partner in the BKS Iyengar Yoga Center of Las Vegas.
Raised in Southern California, he played college football, and is an avid
surfer who has relied upon Iyengar yoga to rehabilitate
from injuries, spinal disc problems, and the general effects of aging that we
all experience during our lives. A
devoted practitioner who has experienced the transformative power of an Iyengar
Yoga practice in his own life and health, Steve enjoys teaching Iyengar Yoga so that others may
also receive its numerous benefits. He has been teaching
Iyengar Yoga, here in Las Vegas, for 5 years and introduced a
philosophy class into the schedule at IYCLV. Having served as president
of the Iyengar Yoga Association of Southern Nevada, he is currently an active board
member. In 2006,
Steve completed the extensive teacher-training program of senior Iyengar Yoga
teachers, Eddy Marks
and Mary Obendorfer of the BKS Iyengar Yoga Centers of San Diego.
Steve recently passed the Introductory I assessment by the Iyengar National
Association of the United States,
and will continue his studies by attending classes with the Iyengar family in
India this fall. |
